Hannah Roberts always provides champion, patient-centered care. Hannah always seems to find the time to talk, listen, and make critical observations while working. While assisting her patient with breakfast, Hannah noticed her patient was having trouble feeding herself. Her arm was unsteady, and her speech was slurred. Hannah quickly ARCC'ed it up and called me, the STAT nurse. Code Stroke was activated. The speech and arm weakness were very slight, hardly noticeable. If Hannah had not been paying close attention, it could have easily been overlooked.
The patient was worked up for a stroke. This is just one example of the excellent care Hannah provides. Every time she calls, I know that it is something serious and she needs an urgent evaluation. I appreciate her using our SAFE principles. Hannah truly lives the Piedmont Promise of "making a positive difference in every life we touch".
