February 2022 Honoree
Hannah S Douglas, RN
We had a very challenging developmentally delayed patient in the ED that was agitated and in/out of a soma bed. The family brought her in as they were unable to care for her at home any longer and her parents had recently passed away. This patient's world has totally been turned upside down. Her parents were gone and she was now out of the only home she had ever known.
The patient wouldn't sleep and was agitated in an ED room. Hannah was seen by ED staff in the room calmly caring for the patient and singing children's songs to her to keep her calm most of the night. You can't teach a nurse this skill this is an exceptional gift and I want to recognize Hannah as one who has this.

Thank you, Hannah S, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
