After the shift change, Hannah entered the delivery table area with the direct and hopeful coaching energy that I needed.
At the birth of my first child, I was having a really challenging delivery because my baby was stuck behind my tailbone. Many times over my first 2.5 hours pushing I was laying on the delivery table with no hope of having a successful vaginal delivery, almost no information about what was going on or feedback about my pushing or what I could do better.
After the shift change, Hannah entered the delivery table area with the direct and hopeful coaching energy that I needed. She had a very clear understanding of what was going on after a quick inspection and put her action plan into place. She said “we’re going to get this baby out!” and was so involved that it was the first time I truly believed we could do it. She coached my breathing, when to not breathe, and supported one of my legs with the force of her body for the remainder of the delivery. She was able to communicate with the doctor to facilitate vacuum assistance which was necessary to get him past my bone. I am 100% certain my delivery time would have decreased significantly, but I am so thankful I had Hannah there after the shift change. She not only gave me the hope I needed but really took control of the entire situation. If my baby had been a girl, we would have named her Hannah.
