Our unit received a patient that was homeless, and when he came to us, all of his clothes were placed in a bag and they were soaking wet. The patient was concerned about his clothes because they were the only clothes that he had, and his shirt had been cut off of him in the ED.
Hannah took it upon herself to find a washing machine in the hospital to take care of this for him. She found a laundry facility on the 8th floor of the East Tower. She walked over from our unit on the 10th floor of the North Tower to wash the clothes, then went back to put them in the dryer, and then once again to bring the clean clothes back to her patient. He was so grateful to her for her efforts, and we are so grateful to have her on our unit caring for her patient the way that she does.
