Although I have always had kind and gentle nurses throughout my OB care at BVHS, Hannah has always stuck in my mind. I've been meaning to nominate her for this since the birth of my second son. Hannah was the night nurse for my husband and me when we had our first son.

My husband and I were both shell-shocked, sleep-deprived, and overwhelmed. Hannah was so comforting, patient, gentle, and genuine with me in my physical and emotional pain by sharing her experiences as a mother, and gave me some perspective to move forward in different decisions. As a first-time mother, my milk had not come in yet, and Hannah comforted me and assured me that my son would be okay until it did. Her genuine advice, attention, and care will forever leave an impact on my heart.

To my surprise, two years later, I happened to be laboring on the one night that month that Hannah was on to work. Seeing her was like a warm hug, and I ask myself all the time how lucky I am to have had her again (and other incredible people) to care for me on the OB floor. That evening, she was able to meet my older son and gifted her some sweet keepsakes.

I still can't believe how lucky I am for this love and care! Thank you, Hannah, for your kindness, energy, and love in one of the most vulnerable times of my life.
