A patient in the ED was on a stroke alert that was given TPA turned for the worse. The patient needed immediate life-saving intervention including intubation. Hannah was involved in this patient's care, though it was not her patient. She noticed the daughter of the patient was becoming distraught and was very scared and did not understand the situation. She let her coworkers take over the care of the patient and she went to the family. Hannah explained every single detail of the situation to the family and walked through every step of the emergency. She explained down to the smallest detail all while hugging the family member.

Hannah is an exceptional nurse every day, not only with patient care. She is able to see past the work and tasks that need to be completed and show compassion to these patients and their families in their time of need. She is able to identify the situations that are often overlooked in the chaos of the emergency department. Taking care of patients in a holistic way involves their families as well.
