I was so happy to receive such thoughtfulness and kindness
Back in November, I was admitted to the hospital, and Hannah was my nurse. She was very kind, compassionate, and well-educated. She took very good care of me. I was sick, septic, and had major surgery for diverticulitis and a colostomy bag, which was a very traumatic and stressful situation for me. Hannah took the time to help me through those emotions I was having when you were sick and scared. It is so important to have a nurse who cares and takes the extra time to be caring and empathetic. It really helped me in more ways than I could ever describe on paper.
On my third day here at Waterman, I was blessed to have Hannah as my nurse once more. She understood and felt empathetic to my frustration of not knowing why I keep accumulating fluids in my lungs. Hannah noticed my Disney bag and asked if I liked Disney. I shared with her that I am a passholder and love Disney to my core! She had two characters, and I said Figment was my favorite. She came back later that day with a cute Figment sticker and placed it on my board. She brought Disney magic to my room, which made my day.
Hannah came back the next day with a Figment button! I was so happy to receive such thoughtfulness and kindness. It’s the small details that make such a huge difference in the care that is received. The way Hannah is with her patients should be the standard of care received. Whenever my meds were due, she was on time without me having to call her. She was kind enough to store my Fairlife protein drinks in the fridge.
Another way she went above and beyond. I had so many questions and concerns as to why I was having this recurring lung problem with fluids. I was worried that I was being a pain in the neck, but Hannah reassured me that I was not a bother or a pain. She made me feel validated and comfortable. I live really close to the hospital in Leesburg, and all three of the trips to my hospital have been to Waterman. The staff is absolutely top-notch. Keep up the great work Hannah, and I have no doubt in my mind that you will accomplish all of your dreams and even beyond your dreams. Don’t ever lose that spark of magic.
