We came into the hospital on Monday night and my daughter was diagnosed with diabetes. We had to stay due to her high blood sugars and ketones in her urine; they had to get her sugar regulated and ketones out of her urine before we could go home. We were admitted to 4 East during our stay we had multiple nurses but the one who stands out is Hannah because she has taught us a lot of what we needed to know about diabetes and she didn't leave us until we understood it. She treated us with the most respect and made us feel like family. The most important part is that she treated our daughter with respect and dignity. I highly recommend her to all the newbies diagnosed with diabetes, because with Hannah as your nurse, parents and guardians will feel very comfortable taking their child home. Hannah explained the ratios step-by-step with math equations and did not leave us until we felt comfortable. She even made up practice equations to help us understand diabetes more. We just want to say thanks very much to Hannah for making this hospital stay very comfortable. Because her taking time out of her day to show us how we are able to take good care of our daughter at home.
