During my appointment with my doctor, I was informed I needed to have a third toe removed! I was wheeled from his office to the E.R. where I was to be admitted. Because of COVID-19, my wife was NOT allowed to accompany me in. I was admitted and sent to Div. 8700. This is where a spectacular nurse takes over.
When I had the previous surgeries to remove the first two toes, I had the comfort of my family to help me through the mental aspects of this. So I am now facing another amputation without the comfort and reassurance of my family, Hannah immediately became my "family". Hannah has an amazing ability to show empathy without making a patient feel like he is being pitied. Wow, that is something all of us should have access to. I cannot tell you how important and cared for I felt under her care. Constant genuine concern. She made a hospital stay that could have been bleak and dismal a bearable event.
