Ms. Yu was instrumental in leading VMC staff ready for the management of the oral maxillofacial surgery population. She went above and beyond in her preparation, including making presentations as well as clinical instructions with such great leadership and enthusiasm.

Hannie did an amazing job getting the pediatric and adult units ready to care for a new patient population – jaw osteotomies. She provided educational materials, assisted in developing order sets, found evidence-based guidelines, set up in-person teaching sessions, and led a virtual-based discussion for all departments. I can’t remember in my 25 years of healthcare someone being so extraordinary in their endeavors to educate so many people in such a short period of time. What is even more amazing is that pediatrics isn’t even her background, and yet she took it on with complete professionalism. She was so pleasant and enthusiastic in her approach that she was such a joy to work with. Her efforts will allow the patients to be cared for in a safe and well-trained environment. I am so grateful for her efforts and am awed by the manner in which she embraced this challenge. Thank you, Hannie.
