One of my patients suffered a stroke while undergoing cardiac catheterization and needed to be sent urgently to St. Mary's Hospital. Harrison Black escorted the patient's wife from our unit down to radiology so that the wife could see her husband before he left via ambulance (St. Mary's was not allowing any visitors). Harrison then carried all patient belongings to the wife's car and took the time to educate the wife and answer questions about the risk of stroke with cardiac catheterization. Harrison frequently goes above and beyond even when he is not the primary nurse for the patient. I am blessed to work with him on our unit.
