Hauwa was my nurse when I was first admitted. It was at mid-shift and I was a little nervous about being admitted.
Hauwa was very responsive to my request. She had great situational awareness of my situation and was able to adjust to me and my needs. She was incredibly professional as she cared for me. She was also very knowledgeable in nursing and the specialized area of multiple myeloma. During the course of the night, she was able to care for me and share a little of her story. She knew that sharing with me would help calm me and take my mind off of my cancer.
There is no way I can repay her for all she did. She is the face of UAMS. Her professionalism, expertise, situational awareness, and patient care was set apart (which is amazing considering all my nurses were A+ nurses).
