I am writing to nominate Ms. Hawra from the normal newborn nursery (OBGYN unit) for the DAISY Award.  During my time as a patient, I had the privilege of receiving exceptional care from her, and I believe she truly embodies the qualities of an exceptional nurse.

She provided tremendous support and invaluable education regarding breastfeeding and newborn care, her passion for nursing was evident in each interaction.  She made sure to take time with me to ensure I felt confident and comfortable in my abilities as a parent, offering generalized guidance and support that was beyond my expectations.

After I was discharged from the hospital, my baby remained an inpatient; every time I visited the nursery, Hawra provided excellent care and tremendous emotional support.  Her kindness and compassion lifted my spirits despite my worry and sadness in regard to my baby's situation.

She is also fully aware of our cultural norms and beliefs related to newborn care, she respected my requests, and I was very glad to discuss them freely with her.

Her enthusiasm and commitment to her patients made a significant difference in my experience and I am incredibly grateful for her compassionate care.
