Hayden Joubert, MSN, RN

I am incredibly honored to nominate my direct manager, Hayden Joubert, for the DAISY Nurse Leader Award. As our Perioperative Clinical and Business Manager, Hayden consistently goes above and beyond to cultivate an environment where her team can provide compassionate, skillful, and high-quality care. She understands that for frontline staff to perform at their absolute best, leaders must be willing to step in, support, and protect their team members from burnout.

A perfect example of Hayden’s exceptional leadership occurred recently. I took on a brand-new task for our unit, which came with a steep learning curve. Due to the high demands of the role, I began falling behind on my workload. Rather than letting me struggle or penalize me for falling behind, Hayden immediately noticed and stepped into action. Demonstrating true collaborative leadership, she teamed up with our director, Haley Harris, to completely take over one of my most time-consuming clinical audits. Because Hayden and Haley stepped up to shoulder that heavy administrative burden for me, I was given the necessary breathing room to catch up on my new responsibilities and regain my footing.

This act of leadership speaks volumes about who Hayden is as a manager. By actively removing barriers and taking on frontline tasks herself, she directly ensures that her staff never feels isolated or overwhelmed. Hayden doesn't just manage our unit from behind a desk; she stands in the trenches with us. Her proactive support creates a safe, low-stress professional environment that ultimately allows us to focus our energy entirely on clinical excellence and quality patient care.

Hayden Joubert is the epitome of a DAISY Nurse Leader, and she is deeply deserving of this recognition.

I would like to formally recognize Hayden Joubert, Clinical Business Manager – Perioperative Services, for her exceptional leadership, dedication, and impact on our department, staff, and patients. This recognition is long overdue and is a testament to the countless ways Hayden contributes to the success of our organization.

Hayden consistently steps up without being asked because she genuinely cares about the people she serves and the work she does. Beginning as a perioperative manager over Pre-Op, PAT, and PACU, she successfully operationalized the Post-Procedure Short Stay Unit. When she transitioned into the Business Manager role, she fully immersed herself in learning both the clinical and business aspects of perioperative services, helping bridge the gap between operations and patient care while contributing to cost-saving initiatives.

Recognizing the need for support within the OR Practice Council, Hayden quickly became an invaluable advisor. Her leadership was instrumental in the success of the OR Point-of-Use Cleaning initiative. She helped the team identify opportunities, develop a plan, and sustain improvements by rounding daily, reviewing case carts, providing real-time coaching, and ensuring accountability. Her consistency and follow-through were key to the project's success.

Hayden has also transformed the OR Service Line Coordinator program. By taking the time to understand each team member's needs, she built trust and rapport with a highly skilled group of OR nurses and CSTs. She reduced barriers, provided Epic preference card education, created a formal onboarding process for new team leads, and continues to protect dedicated time for coordinators to fulfill their responsibilities. She challenges the team to be leaders, models accountability, and encourages growth through professional development resources and team-building opportunities.

Beyond the OR, Hayden has mentored new Supply Chain leaders and fostered stronger collaboration between departments. Her ability to build relationships, develop people, and create alignment has had a lasting impact across multiple teams.

While I could list many more accomplishments, what stands out most is Hayden's commitment to helping others succeed. She is a respected leader, mentor, and role model who consistently makes our department better. More than anything, I hope she has the opportunity to hear how much she is appreciated and valued by those she supports every day. She has earned every bit of this recognition and the opportunity to eat the cookies she makes for the other DAISY winners.
