She was so amazing in the way she was able to take all my concerns and worries, decipher what my actual problems were, and come up with a game plan on how to move forward.
After a few days of being in the hospital, I became very overwhelmed to the point of tears. I was unable to convey what exactly was bothering me so much.
Haylee noticed that I needed someone to talk to, and she listened to everything I was going through. She brought me so much comfort by sitting on my bed next to me and letting me get all of my tears out. She was so amazing in the way she was able to take all my concerns and worries, decipher what my actual problems were, and come up with a game plan on how to move forward.
Haylee recognized that I was becoming too overwhelmed by all the people/caretakers/providers who entered the room and made herself my sole provider/caretaker and have all other staff discuss treatments and concerns with her first.
I was finally able to get some rest and pull myself together. Haylee was a true gift of being able to recognize when someone is overwhelmed and needs comfort, providing that comfort by truly taking the time to listen and making a person feel truly cared for. I know I am able to face each day, knowing that I am heard and cared for.
Thank you, Haylee!!
P.S. She even brought me “snack packs” an assortment of snacks in a cup, just in case I got hungry.
