Hayley is always right there to lend a helping hand, right when you need it the most, without thinking twice about it! Hayley seems to always be in the midst of things! She is definitely willing to roll up her sleeves and dig right into the action. I first heard of her brave work, where we had an incident of a patient suffering a great loss of a miscarriage on our unit. When the nurse assigned to that patient became overwhelmed with the situation, Hayley was right there showing her concern. She does it without expectations! When I had a very confused and uncooperative patient of my own, Hayley stepped right in providing her therapeutic touch. She was able to completely calm the patient; not only did she get the patient settled down so that I could obtain orders for this patient and follow through with them, but she also stayed on an extra 20-30 minutes with the patient, reading the patient's book of choice to her, to ease her even further to allow time for the medication to work. She did not leave her side until the patient was resting quietly in bed. She is definitely one extraordinary nurse, and I am ecstatic she is a part of our team!!
