I heard none other than Clay Rogers outside the room door with my dad. He had pushed him in his wheelchair across the hospital parking lot from oncology to the ED to be with my mom.
I have known Mr. Clay Rogers for years and have had the pleasure of working with him. To shed some light on my story, my dad was a cancer patient last year, and Clay really took exceptional care of him, always meeting his needs and just taking time to talk and listen to my dad. Taking him to appointments was difficult because not only was he undergoing chemo/radiation, but he was also wheelchair-bound, and Clay was always willing to help when needed.

Two days ago, my father called and said that my mother wasn't acting right. I had to call 911 from work; Dad had a cancer appointment at 3:30, and it was already 2:00 pm. I loaded my dad in the car while EMS rode away with my mom. Needless to say, my emotions were all over the place, having to drop him off and not being able to be with him because I needed to be with my mom in the ED. So, I was extremely worried about both of my parents.

So, as I sat there waiting, I heard none other than Clay Rogers outside the room door with my dad. He had pushed him in his wheelchair across the hospital parking lot from oncology to the ED to be with my mom. I can't think of anyone else who would have done that; they probably would have told me to pick him up. I truly appreciate Clay Rogers, and he is a true leader. ECU Health Edgecombe is the best place to work because of all the extraordinary people who work there.
