If not for Hazel Scott, the night I made the decision to begin 'palliative care' my mother's last days and hours may have been torturous for her. Hazel was there for me every step of the way before and after making the decision. She explained everything in a compassionate and clear manner, practically holding my hand through the process. She helped me to ensure that my mother passed with dignity and respect. She worked with us and the others on her team, communicating constantly, listening intently and above all caring for us in the most personal way. As a family, we believe Hazel is by definition 'extraordinary.
