Hazel was my grandfather-in-law's night nurse. He has dementia and was admitted to the hospital for being even more confused than normal. They diagnosed him with a urine infection. My grandfather was extremely confused and agitated during his stay. Hazel was so kind and compassionate to my whole family. She explained every step of the way the care my grandfather was receiving and was honest about his poor prognosis, but never gave up on him and continued to assure us that he was receiving the best care possible even when he was DNR status. He was eventually discharged back home and is doing well! All the nurses who took care of him were amazing, but Hazel was the one who truly made our family's experience in Peninsula Hospital excellent. Thank you!
