Having a wife who has a very complicated and chronic condition is very stressful in itself. Having to deal with constantly going to the hospital only makes matters worse. We were on our third visit to the hospital in two weeks due to a magnesium deficiency. I started to wonder if there was an issue with her medication. After a very informative discussion with Heather, we were able to conclude that there could be an interaction with her medication that could be causing a malabsorption issue. Heather contacted the doctor and PA, who met us in the room to talk further in detail. With Heather’s experience and medical knowledge, we explained the situation to the PA, who then consulted with the doctor. Their reasoning resulted in changing the medication to hopefully correct the issue. After many conversations with medical professionals over the many months returning to Henry Ford Macomb, it took Heather’s initiative and involvement to finally result in some action. We very much appreciated her!
