Heather Bentler, RN

Heather was recently in care of our mother. Mom had taken a nasty fall in her home and was hospitalized on the 6th floor for 3 days. She was in Heather’s care most of those days. Heather went above and beyond for mom – tending to her every need. She was also sympathetic to both of us, her daughters, as her care givers. She talked with mom, repeatedly, about some of the new realizations in her life – to keep her safe and in her own home. She was engaging with us and Mom, sharing stories of her life (we hope she had a great vacation in Colorado) and listening to our stories of Mom. I can’t remember what the instance was, but Vicki looked at her and said, “You are just a doll.” This DAISY Award is for extraordinary nurses. We would like to nominate Heather because she truly is extraordinary. We say thank you very much!
