Heather has been my key worker and Clinical Nurse Specialist for my cancer care for as long as I can remember (a long time). She has been such a supportive and key person in my cancer journey and beyond. She has helped me face some pretty tough situations.
Heather has always gone out of her way to make the life of being a cancer survivor that little bit easier. She has often visited me on the wards after her working day had finished. This was so appreciated seeing a familiar, friendly face.
Heather, along with other members of the LTFU clinic, helped to set up Unity: The After-Cure Choir. The choir is made up of other survivors of children, teenage and young adult cancers. The group meets weekly. Here the group has become like a family, supporting each other. This group wouldn't run without the support and dedication from Heather and the team. Heather runs the group outside of her working day.
