A Thank You note to Heather Clipp:
I just want to take the time to say "thank you". Nursing is definitely a thankless job and sometimes we don't receive all the credit we deserve. Today, I would like to make it "YOUR" day and appreciate you! Thank you for being a part of the team and modeling teamwork. One night, one of our nursing assistants had to be pulled to another unit to sit one night. Unfortunately, that left no nursing assistants on the floor. You immediately volunteered to do the job. Unfortunately, it is not every day a nurse is willing to do that. You saw patients needed help and you jumped right in. You received report and started to change patients. You were not only the nursing assistant; you completed nursing duties as well. You would give pain medication to patients if they needed that too. You didn't complain one bit and we were all impressed with your efforts that night.
Thank you for being a great leader. I know sometimes you are the charge nurse and you take those responsibilities seriously. I always see you helping out and not just sitting at the front desk if the nurses or nursing assistants are overwhelmed, you are always willing to step up and assist whether it is dealing with a difficult family member or just calming the staff down when they are stressed. One night, you had to counsel a teary-eyed staff member because they were so frustrated and overwhelmed in their responsibilities. After talking with you, the staff member calmed down and was able to go back to work.
I have seen you grow as a nurse and I really believe you are definitely DAISY Award-worthy. You are definitely a star to us and an asset to 11 Tower! Thank you for all you do!
