Heather is an outstanding nurse and co-worker. She provides the highest level of care to every patient she encounters. She has a very compassionate personality and always goes above and beyond to make sure that our patients are comfortable with the entire process they are going through while under our care. She is in constant communication from initial consultation to post-procedure follow-ups. Upon starting with our department, Heather had an idea of carrying a department-issued cell phone to provide extended hours of communication with patients. I, personally, believe this is a major part of our improved patient satisfaction scores. Patients truly appreciate being able to speak with a knowledgeable nurse beyond normal business hours to answer questions, or to use as a sounding board. Heather has genuine care and concern for her patients and co-workers alike. She is an excellent resource and teacher and is willing to help out her fellow co-workers whenever needed and in whatever capacity needed. Heather uses her clinical expertise to assist our physicians in making excellent patient care plans as well as providing the individualized support needed by patients and families. Heather demonstrates her leadership skills on a daily basis by guiding her co-workers to be the best they can be. She helps others see their full potential while providing constructive feedback and advice. I cannot say enough about how much of a positive impact Heather has made on this healthcare system.
