Her compassion to help me feel better was evident.
Truly a remarkable RN! Being rolled in on a gurney just off an ambulance with a probability of heart issues is scary. Heather walks in with a smile and reassures you the doctors will find out what's going on. She was there when I needed her. Her smile, personality, gentleness, and wonderful sense of humor! She was there to comfort me when I was exhausted and struggling with pain and the fear of the unknown. We joked and laughed together, but she was always professional.
Going for the angiogram, I was scared. She reassured me she'd be waiting when I came back, and she was. I couldn't get out of bed afterward and so we used this cool gadget that collects the waster as you lay there in bed. We had more laughs about it and time went by so much faster.
Her compassion to help me feel better was evident. I have terrible anxiety and depression issues and having her as my nurse made my stay at Essentia so much easier. I know she went above and beyond any nurse I've ever met and had during my hospital stays. She's a #1 in my book! She touched my heart and I will never forget her love, dedication, and compassion she showed to me. On her last shift we hugged, and I thanked her, and I cried. She's amazing!
Note: This is Heather's 2nd DAISY Award!
