Heather was kind, graceful, and compassionate. We thank her "for being more than" every moment she cares for our family.
Heather was everything we needed and more on the worst days of our lives. Our daughter became 1 of the 195 teens that attempted suicide since this pandemic started. We didn't have a girl that you could see signs/symptoms of depression. We have a daughter that was social, a cheerleader, an honor student that had a lot of things happen in 6 months. Heather listened. She sat by her, held her hand, and told her life was hard but totally worth living.
I work in the ICU where my daughter became a patient. Heather took care of her for 2 days. The care and the time she spent with her were beyond our expectations. My husband and I had to alternate time with our daughter because of COVID. Heather was so kind in making sure that my husband got undisturbed time with her since it was so limited. She watched her cardiac rhythm and called with concerns to the doctors as they arose. She gave fluid boluses as she needed them. She called the chaplain to come and be with her for her spiritual needs. She called Child Life when she knew that some things and the situation were scary to my daughter. She comforted me as I was now in the unit on the other side of the care. She shielded our privacy as we merged through what would become the "worst days we could imagine". Heather was kind, graceful, and compassionate. We thank her "for being more than" every moment she cares for our family.
