I want to nominate Heather for a Daisy Award, not to recognize the care she provided to one patient in particular, but to recognize her for the care she provides to all of her patients. A note posted on our staff "Kudos" board read: "I would like to recognize Heather Turner for sitting with her patient when no family was here. Her compassionate care made sure that he didn't die alone." Other staff chimed in to say "Heather is amazing," and "This doesn't surprise me one bit." And I agree - this is the standard level of care that Heather provides to all of her patients. She is compassionate and connects with each one in a special way. I am often pulled aside by family members who just want to say thank you and let me know how much they appreciated Heather's care of their loved one. Heather has been doing this job for a long time, and every day I am impressed with the kindness and patience that she brings to her patient care.
