Heather Kirkendoll, RN

Patient was moved to tears by the selfless actions of Heather. A patient was a lifelight transfer from McAlister for a prolonged antepartum stay. She’s a first time mom and was anxious and afraid not knowing what's to come. We try to do our best to make long term patients stay; feel more at home. She had mentioned to another nurse that she’s from a small town where there are not many people who can do weaving of braids. Heather, a nurse on the unit, went and purchased the hair and offered to weave the braid into her hair. The patient told her nurse “that is the sweetest thing, I could cry.” Heather went above and beyond, taking time out of her day to spend this 2 to 3 hours to make this patient feel special. This is the exact definition of an extraordinary nurse and we are so lucky to have her on our team! Thank you Heather for your compassionate care
