Heather is truly a wonderful nurse who imparts knowledge, gentleness, patience, caring, and kindness.
My mother, 91 years old, was brought to Silver Cross by ambulance with severe abdominal pain and chest pain. After being evaluated and treated in the emergency room, Mom was admitted and transferred to the 6th floor. Although she was 91, Mom had been in relatively good health considering her age. Mom was ultimately diagnosed with an ileum obstruction.

Mom had many nurses and CNAs take care of her during her stay at Silver Cross, but none better than Heather, who comforted mom and our entire family on mom’s last day of life. Heather was gentle and kind as she ensured Mom was comfortable and without pain. She had coffee brought up to the room for our grieving family. She made certain the front desk knew we had a very large family and that mom was passing, and to allow all family members access to say our goodbyes.

Heather quietly yet very professionally cared for Mom while also being available for our family to answer questions and give hugs where needed. After Mom passed, Heather continued to comfort our family by staying past the end of her shift and giving the family plenty of time for final goodbyes.

Heather is truly a wonderful nurse who imparts knowledge, gentleness, patience, caring, and kindness. She assisted our family in understanding Mom’s illness and diagnosis and gave unselfish compassion to us all.

Heather is a fabulous nurse and epitomizes the professionalism and caring energy nurses should strive to achieve. Silver Cross is better for having Heather as a nurse in its employ.

Thank you to all of the nurses and staff who cared from mom. But especially, Thank You to Heather for taking care of our mom and our family. You're #1. God bless you!
