December 2021 Honoree
Heather L Skidmore, RN
I want to send the biggest thank you to Heather who is the best RN and friend anyone could ask for. I came to the ER and I warned Heather not to get too close since I hadn’t showered or brushed my teeth in over a week. This didn’t matter at all to her and she wrapped me in the biggest bear hug, stroked my hair, and kissed my nasty forehead as I sobbed. As if this wasn’t kind enough, Heather came into the hospital the next day on her day off to care for me. She brought me a bag full of stuff and told me she was going to give me a shower. This wonderful woman washed my hair and my body, wrapped me in a blanket, and held me while I sobbed. Heather, thank you from the bottom of my heart, I don’t know if I would have made it out of there since my husband recently passed and I had lost my will to live. Heather’s kind compassion had helped me get back my will to live.
Thank you, Heather L, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
