Heather consistently goes above and beyond for her patients and coworkers. Heather is a strong advocate for her patients and isn't afraid to speak up on their behalf. Heather also goes out of her way every day to help anyone who needs it. I have seen her offer help to floats when they arrive on the floor and will happily give them any help.
Heather recently has become one of the more senior nurses on her shift, training new RNs and taking charge RN more frequently. Heather is patient, intelligent and a great teacher for our new grads. Our new nurses feel safe with her as they all know Heather has their back.
Heather even makes a great charge nurse. She anticipates the floor's needs and always has a good handle on what is happening on the floor. Heather is also president of Unit Council and flourishes in that role; always prepared, always present.
Overall, I think Heather embodies the definition of "extraordinary nurse". She is the total package. If my family member were here, I know they would be safe under Heather's care.
