My father was hospitalized for what we thought to be treatment for GI concerns as a result of his chemo treatment. After speaking with his oncologist, we were told this is a result of his cancer and the chemo has done all it can do. As a family, we opted to cease treatment and discharge home with Hospice. During his time and the leading up to this, we had the pleasure of Heather as my father's nurse. Not only did she provide excellent care (anticipating questions, providing clear answers, having medications ready per schedule), but she also showed us all a genuine degree of empathy, compassion and mercy. The prayer she said with us will always be remembered in our hearts.
