Heather was nominated by: Sima Agayeva -BSN Senior Student who had these words to say:
"I nominate Professor Nelson-Brantley for this award. Professor Nelson-Brantley always goes above and beyond for her students. She is an extremely busy lady and has many projects going on at once, but never once when approaching her for help have I felt as if she couldn 't make time for me. I am so lucky to have had her as a professor, and I truly believe that she cares about her students ' success. She is a genuine and down-to-earth person who is also very intelligent and personable. She is the one who encouraged me to pursue psychiatric and mental health nursing when it seemed like hardly anyone else understood why I chose this field. She shared a personal experience with me about how mental health was prevalent in her own life, and I felt like our connection grew stronger from that encounter. She is always positive and never has a harsh word to say about anyone or anything. I want her to know that she has inspired me to help others, both in my professional life and in my personal life. She deserves this award and all of the recognition in the world."
