I want to applaud Heather Novak RN for her compassionate care of a patient. She was caring for a critically ill young man recently. His birthday was the next day so she spent time blowing up gloves as balloons and taping them up in the room. She also made a sign for him to wish him a Happy Birthday. This was all the more special to me because this patient was too ill and incapacitated to see the efforts that she went to. I was touched and his stressed out family was also touched. They were grateful for her efforts and thanked her the next day.
