Our family of 20+ was in Indianapolis for our granddaughter's wedding. She was the first of our 11 grandchildren to be married and naturally, everyone was excited about the event. Unfortunately, her grandfather (my husband) ended up in the ER at about 12:30 a.m. on the day of the wedding. He was hospitalized shortly after; with the knowledge, he would have an ERCP and gall bladder removal ASAP. It was an enormous disappointment to everyone that he couldn't attend the wedding, even though we were grateful he was in good hands and that his situation wasn't worse.
Heather managed to help my son coordinate FaceTime, so my husband could watch the church wedding. I can't explain how much that meant to our family, especially as I was ushered to my seat and could see him in his hospital bed saying, "Hi Mom!" Heather is truly an angel, and I was sorry I couldn't find her in the hospital to thank her personally.
