Heather always strives to give expert, compassionate care to our little patients. Heather takes the extra time to make sure that the parents of the infants that she is caring for are informed about the plan of care, so they can understand what their baby needs and why.
We recently had an infant who was a NEO code in the OR. Once the parents had processed all that occurred with their baby, Heather took all the time needed to help calm them, get questions answered and have the parents spend time with their baby so they could start bonding.
The infant received wonderful care by Heather. The family got the support and care they needed to be able to put the traumatic birth event in perspective, be involved in their infant's care, and bond with their beautiful new addition.
Heather always puts her patient and the unit first. She is proactive to make sure the unit functions well. She is a team player and is always willing to go above and beyond. She is an asset to the unit!
