I very much appreciated her intelligence, warmth, kindness, and concern.
I was hospitalized at LPH for 6 days. For the last three days of my stay, Heather was my day nurse. I very much appreciated her intelligence, warmth, kindness, and concern. She would come in to check on me and do her job and then take a few moments to chat about traveling, books, or dogs. While I know she was very busy, she never made it seem that way while in my room. Heather was able to get permission for me to go outside for a few minutes between antibiotic IV treatments. She told me where to walk on the medsurg floor to see the mountains. She was aware that I was waiting to see if my next IR procedure was scheduled for Monday afternoon. She knew that I enjoyed being able to move around my room freely and said that she would evaluate me post IR procedure to see if was safe for me to continue getting up on my own. I got to keep the grey socks!! All of these acts are small but she made such a difference in my hospital stay. I was so happy to see her my last three days. She was a joy each time she came in and she facilitated my convalescence both physically and mentally. I was relieved to go home at the end of my stay but was a little sad to part company with her. I want her to know that she made a real difference to me and my recovery and I am so very grateful.

Heather was my nurse for a few days while I was in the hospital. From day one under her care, I discovered she had a great personality, a good rapport with her patients and she really cared about my well-being. The infection in my feet had spread to my blood and after an ultrasound heart test, the doctors thought they spotted some type of attachment from something in the blood to one of my heart valves which could lead to more serious consequences. The next morning, I was scheduled for a 2nd heart test. As they were wheeling me down for this test, there she was! She gave me a smile and a wave of the hand to kind of reassure me that someone cared and everything would be ok.

Heather was a joy to have taking care of me. She's very kind and compassionate and comforting. She made sure to follow up on answers to questions she didn't know (which weren't many). She was nice and pleasing to be around as I recovered, making a scary situation for me tolerable. Thank you so much Heather!!!
