Heather was present when my dad came home on hospice; he passed away the next day. Heather was also my mom's hospice nurse. My mom was not very receptive to having "people" come into her house. My mom had dementia, congenital heart disease, diabetes, and she wasn't always kind (she had many "sayings" she repeated). Heather made my mom feel safe and comfortable. My mom only wanted Heather to come in, which wasn't always possible, but Heather tried her darndest.
Heather listened to my mom's repetitive stories with a genuine heart and kept us well informed of mom's health. After Heather would leave, mom would always say, "I sure like her, don't you?" We truly enjoyed Heather's visits. Heather let mom know she called the shots. My mom didn't like to take her meds and often complained to Heather about me and Heather always listened with consideration. Mom always looked forward to her visits.
