October 2014 Honoree
heather riley, RN
My husband had to have a transfusion of PRBCs yesterday. He had not been hospitalized since 1995 and was quite apprehensive. He is also blind. Heather Riley almost immediately made him feel more comfortable. More importantly, her nursing care was exemplary; the careful checking, rechecking, and constant monitoring; her generous kindness. It was a long day, but she made it a much less stressful one. We are both very grateful that she was "our nurse". We cannot thank her enough. This may have been "just doing her job" but she made us feel well taken care of.
Thank you, Heather, for your exceptional compassion, advocacy, and dedication to your patients. You truly make a difference.
