Heather truly gives from a place of altruism seen in few nurses. This was evident when I saw Heather visiting a patient on her day off, which happened to be on Christmas Day. I did notpersonally ask Heather about why she did it because I already knew how deeply she wants to make a difference in peoples' lives. Her presence gave this patient a lot of happiness; it was apparent by the smile on her facewhen for many shifts this patient had only been in tears. It lifts me up and inspires me to pass on even just a fraction of what Heather does no matter what challenges arise.
Heather greets her patients with grace, dignity, and humor. Heather is also thorough in her care, report, charting, and sheis always eager to teach nursing students. I don't think I have ever heard her complain. She helps fellow nurses with patient care and the list goes on! The patient that Heather visited on Christmas Day will never forget the special care and attention that she was given when she was so alone, and certainly Heather's co-workers won't soon forget her kindness either. We are so proud to work with her!
