She was one of the kindest and caring clinical instructors and didactic instructors I have had in nursing school. She cares a lot about her students and the population we are serving.

Professor Striker teaches topics that are particularly sensitive (mental health) and pays close attention to her classroom in order to minimize stigma. She actively listened to my own concerns as a student and helped me find resources and remain confident in my ability to make it through this semester. Her presentations teach the content while also acknowledging the challenges we will face as future nurses. She gave insight into her own experiences as a nurse and offered teachings that I will not forget.

I am nominating Heather because of her exceptional teaching abilities. Whenever I went to see her in office hours or at clinical, she was absolutely fabulous. She would help me understand what I did wrong on an exam, and she would help me create a plan to make sure I would succeed. She is really a teacher who wants students to be their best selves and to succeed.
