I am the mom of the patient. I need to start off by saying all of my daughter's nurses were exceptional caregivers. All very patient, attentive, compassionate, communicative...amazing! My daughter would like to name several for varying reasons, but for me, Heather was knowledgeable, above and beyond caring. Continually checking up on my daughter. Her main goal was pain management and IV antibiotic treatment. This was a little confusing, and at times, overwhelming trying to keep all medications straight; meds, dosage, time, etc.
Nurse Heather 'heard' our frustration and implemented a visual chart on rapid response board showing the name of pain meds, how much time between doses, dependent upon medication, and time medication was last given.
What a lifesaver 'emotionally' not only that she made sure to keep my daughter out of pain as much as possible; even bringing in ice packs and heat packs. So helpful, we enjoyed every time she came in... truly a ray of sunshine. She also had tips for nausea issues, brought in fragrance spray as the patient beside us had bowel issues.
