Heather joined our Bryan Trauma team last year and has developed many relationships with the community, referral hospitals, patients and staff. The most prominent example of her true commitment to the care of trauma patients across the continuum is the development of a program to give bicycle helmets to persons who are injured in bicycle crashes without a helmet. Heather goes above and beyond by taking time to meet with families after bicycle crashes and instruct them on the how's and why's of bicycle safety. It is not uncommon for her to spend a Saturday or Sunday at an injury prevention program. She has been able to make a difference in many peoples lives through the implementation of this program.
Heather's charisma, positive attitude, and unending support to the trauma program make her a true visionary and leader for injury prevention and outreach in our region. She has been a valuable asset to our medical center, the community and most of all, to each of our injured patients. She is a true champion.
