It’s been over a month since our daughter was born and I continue to be grateful for the wonderful care Heather provided to our new baby girl and me. She took her time to explain things to us and listen. Heather checked in with us often and was always patient with our needs and questions. She helped us feel calm and supported during a time of unknowns. Thank you for everything you do to welcome new babies and mamas into the world.

Heather was fantastic in helping me to get back on my pain management schedule after a day they were unable to manage it. Her happy and excited disposition just seemed to light up the room whenever she came to check on me. Her explanations of things such as caring for my Pico dressing and what to look for regarding swelling in the legs inspired confidence in her ability to care for me and my son. Each time Heather entered while my son was in the nursery, she immediately started with an update on how he was which was very nice.

The biggest moment for her, however, came when the first-year resident did rounds and seemed to have not read my chart at all, Heather came in soon after realized I was upset, and talked me through all my new worries to put me back at ease. She was fantastic to have as a nurse during my stay.

I recently delivered at West Penn hospital and had a wonderful experience on post-partum with my nurse, Heather. Right from the moment I was moved down from L&D to my new room, Heather made myself, my husband, and my new baby comfortable. As a first-time mom, I was especially grateful for her bubbly personality, patience, and willingness to help. She spent so much time with me as I adjusted to the changes to my body and was incredibly patient and knowledgeable. As a fellow nurse, her compassion and love for her job were clear and she was more than helpful with adjusting to this new stage in our life.
