On a recent shift, I did bedside shift report with Heather and her most appreciative patient. He described her as a "crackerjack" nurse who ran her butt off all day. The patient was frightened when his heart rate was in the 170s and Heather took extra special care of him. He was moved to tears describing his experience of gratitude. Heather always does an amazing job, but it was obvious on this day that she went above and beyond.
