A patient in the ICU had passed away quickly before her mother could get here from Hungary. When the mother arrived to the unit, she had learned that her daughter had passed away the day before. Newly bereaved and heartbroken, Nurse Heather took time to comfort her. Heather obtained all the necessary permissions to bring the patient back to the unit from the morgue and cleaned the patient herself. She carefully and respectfully cleaned the patient from all the blood so that her mother could see her one last time and have closure. Heather stayed with the mother and took clippings of the patient's hair for her mother to keep. Heather shed tears as well and is a kind, compassionate human being who went above and beyond her duty to give those precious last moments to the patient's mother. Heather is an outstanding nurse and a superhero of a human being. Thank you, Heather.
