I have worked here for 2.5 months and in this time I have noticed Heather Watson, not only for her clinical competence (of which she is highly skilled) but also for her positive attitude and her willingness to ALWAYS help her patients as well as her co-workers. She does it with a smile, no questions asked.
Below are just 2 examples that stick out in my mind when I think of a DAISY Nurse:
Heather, with the help of her mother, partnered with Vera Bradley and was able to get enough masks for every employee at the Rehab Hospital. This is not only an example of smart conservation, which has been asked of us during this pandemic, but also a willingness to support the team, to think outside of the box, and to use local resources.
Recently, we had a patient who was not doing well on the floor. Heather arrived at the room and was calm, cool, and collected and her demeanor changed the dynamic of the entire situation. It created calmness amongst staff and allowed everyone to be present in the moment and give the best care possible for the patient.
These 2 examples are only 2 of the many ways Heather touches the lives of patients, co-workers, and families each day.
