Heather works with us quite a bit on 2 west and is like a member of our team. She is always kind, caring and attentive to her patients. She is truly a nurse with a servant's heart. She is dedicated to quality patient care and a great patient experience. She is always a team player. She receives compliments from staff often on her nursing skills and teamwork. She consistently receives compliments during patient rounding from patients and families. They often state she is so kind, compassionate, attentive and spends extra time to explain things and listen. Most recently, she came in on the 4th of July when she was not scheduled to work. It was on her off day. She had been caring for a patient who was not eating because she did not like the hospital food. But, while she was caring for the patient earlier in the week she found out that this patient likes Panera bread. So, Heather got her Panera bread and brought it to her on the 4th of July. We are constantly talking with our staff about connecting with our patients. Heather did this and went above and beyond to make a difference to this patient.
