My son was recently diagnosed with Rhabdomyosarcoma. Before his 1st chemo treatment, a doctor came in to get us to sign consent forms. We did not realize she was going to rattle off the list of possible side effects like she was reading a grocery list. My son, who has been diagnosed with anxiety disorder, started freaking out. Heather noticed how upset he was. She devised a plan with him. She said, "Want me to talk your parents into letting you do something wild with your hair until you lose it?" They came up with dying it his favorite color, blue. She went and bought the dye and did it blue. He said, "This is the best day ever!" Heather took him from depressed and crying to that statement.
