Heather is consistently recognized by her patients and colleagues for the time she takes with them, learning their stories and including them in every aspect of her work.
Most recently, Heather was recognized for going above and beyond by paying for a patient's discharge medications out of her own pocket, thus caring for that patient even after hospitalization had ended. Heather then "gave the patient a great big hug" and asked her to just pay it forward and feel better. Heather touched this patient's life and supported her wellness, acting as a "transforming and healing presence in our community".
